Build Your Career in Financial Strategy
We're looking for people who get excited about helping businesses make sense of their numbers. If that sounds like you, read on.
What We Actually Do Here
Most days, we're helping organisations figure out where their money goes and why. Not in a boring spreadsheet way (though there are spreadsheets). More like detective work that helps businesses understand what drives their costs.
Our approach centers on activity-based budgeting. Instead of just looking at last year's numbers and adding 5%, we dig into what actually happens in a business. What activities consume resources? Which ones create value? Where's the waste hiding?
It's satisfying work. You see real improvements — teams making smarter decisions, resources going where they matter, budgets that reflect reality instead of guesswork.
Open Positions Starting August 2025
We're expanding our team this year. Here's what we need and what you'd be doing in each role.
Financial Planning Analyst
You'll work directly with clients to map their business activities and build budgets that make sense. Think process mapping, cost driver analysis, and helping finance teams move beyond traditional budgeting methods.
- Conduct activity analysis sessions with client teams
- Build financial models based on actual business drivers
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Train client staff on new budgeting approaches
Budget Systems Specialist
Someone needs to build the tools that make activity-based budgeting work. That's you. You'll design systems, automate reporting, and create dashboards that turn complex data into clear insights.
- Develop budget tracking and reporting systems
- Integrate activity data with financial platforms
- Create visualizations for stakeholder reporting
- Maintain data integrity across multiple systems
Client Education Coordinator
The best budgeting system fails if people don't understand it. You'll create training materials, run workshops, and help client teams actually use what we build for them.
- Design and deliver training programs for clients
- Create documentation and educational resources
- Support clients through implementation phases
- Gather feedback to improve our methods
Freyja Lindbeck
Senior Financial Analyst
"I joined morenthysa because I was tired of traditional budgeting approaches that nobody believed in. Here, we actually fix the problems instead of just complaining about them. Plus, the team treats you like an adult — flexible hours, trust in your judgment, room to try new approaches."
How We Work
Real Expertise Matters
We hire people who know their stuff and let them do their job. No micromanagement. No pointless meetings. Just smart people solving interesting problems.
Flexibility That Works
Some people think better at 6am. Others hit their stride at 9pm. We care about results, not when you're at your desk. Hybrid options available for most roles.
Learning Is Part of Work
The field keeps changing. We support conference attendance, online courses, and professional development. Because stagnant teams produce stagnant work.
Honest Communication
If something's not working, we talk about it. No corporate doublespeak. No pretending problems don't exist. Just direct, respectful conversations.
What You Get
- Competitive salary reviewed annually
- Four weeks annual leave plus public holidays
- Professional development budget
- Superannuation contributions
- Flexible working arrangements
- Modern equipment and tools
- Regular team events and workshops
- Mentorship and career progression support

Our Wetherill Park Location
We're based at William Stimson Primary School campus on Lily Street. It's a shared workspace arrangement that gives us access to meeting rooms, presentation facilities, and a collaborative environment.
Easy access from the M7 and M4, plenty of parking, and decent coffee nearby. The area's grown quite a bit in the past few years — more amenities, better infrastructure, and a surprisingly good lunch scene.
Most of our team is here three days a week, with flexibility for remote work the rest of the time. We find the balance works well for collaboration without forcing unnecessary commutes.
